Notes on how to make sense of Stop Making Scott Making Cents Sense, an album(out 2/29/24)

Oh hi, didn’t notice you there. Well since you’re here let me tell you about the new Scott Making Cents album that comes out on 2/29/24.

First of all, it’s called Stop Making Scott Making Cents Sense, of course.

You want a detailed breakdown of each song? Well, ok…

Graphic Design is my Passion

1. “Heart Attack”

This song started out with just the intro guitar riff. From there, it was only (cardio)logical where it ended up.

2. “Comedians and Singers”

It is a fact that the videos you care about/work hardest on will ultimately fail on social media (related: your most popular tweets WILL have a typo in them). If you inadvertently stumble into some content format that does work, but has nothing to do with the thing you actually want people to see, what do you do? Live video footage.

3. “Chat GPT”

I was a teacher for about 5 minutes, so I can speak definitively on this topic: AI is bad, but not for the reason you’re thinking though.

I’ve never seen any of these men before, your Honor.

4. “(I was an) Intern”

This is a detailed account of every soul-sucking and financially impractical internship I ever had. It is a factually accurate depiction of the demoralizing and borderline (?) illegal business activities that keep nearly every major recording studio in NYC in business. FUN!

5.“DM Me 4 Promo”

Are you supposed to reply to those weird people on Instagram who want to sell you followers and promote your posts for $$$? Because it is basically my favorite thing to do. (watch the video now)

Busine$$

6. “3 Cymbals”

This song is about the unbreakable bond between man and nature which can be further explored via guided medita — I’m just fucking around. Synths go bleep bloop.

7. “Dalai Lama Road Trip”

Songs don’t have to really make sense or be about things, OK? Sometimes you just come up with a funny phrase or word and want to sing it a bunch of times. The real songs are the friends we made along the way.

When you distribute an album, they want you to type up all of the lyrics and only then do you realize how dumb your songs actually are

Did I mention the album is out on 2/29/24 and you can watch the music video for “DM Me 4 Promo” RIGHT NOW!
